I have taught, lectured and demonstrated a variety of historic decorating techniques for several organizations, museums and individuals over the past thirty years, including The Historical Society of Early American Decoration ( www.hsead.org ), The Society of Gilders, Stencil Artisan League, Hitchcock Museum in Riverton, CT , American Folk Art Museum in NYC and The Rufus Porter Museum in Bridgton, ME. Pictured here, I am lecturing and demonstrating at the Rufus Porter Museum Cultural Heritage Summer Series ~ www.rufusportermuseum.org, where I will be teaching again in summer 2008. | ||||||||
| One of my greatest joys is seeing
a student grasp an understanding of the brush and paints. This was
a recent Brides Box Seminar in Vermont. Back to Top |

I enjoy working with private individuals and decorators helping them to add historic decoration and color to their walls and floors using modern products to create an authentic period look. The stencils used in this room were purchased from www.mbhistoricdecor.com. They carry a complete line of historic stencils for floors and walls. |

My research and study of historic
decorative painting has taken me to many wonderful museums, galleries,
antique shops and private collections in both America and Europe. Being
both a painter and teacher, this enthusiasm for the painted surface
has led me to write about it. |

| With the reprint of The Art of Theorem
Painting in 2002 I formed a partnership with my co-author Barbara Knickerbocker
called Lefko~Knickerbocker Period Designs. We have joined forces with
Crafters Corner Inc. to produce authentic pre-cut theorem, bronze powder
and silhouette designs available to the public at www.crafterscornerinc.com. Back to Top |
